Did You Know Meat Loaf Did Vocals On Ted Nugent's "Free-For-All" Album?

We woke up to the sad news about Meat Loaf passing away this morning. His family shared the news on his Facebook page around 3am ET.

The "Bat Out Of Hell" album is going to be required listening for me and many others this weekend, but did you know he also did lead vocals on Ted Nugent's "Free-For-All" album?

In 1976, Derek St. Holmes, who had been handling lead vocals quit the band due to personal issues. It ended up being a short lived exit, but they were still working on the record at the time, so producer Tom Werman called Meat Loaf to see if he could do the vocals.

Meat Loaf accepted the offer, went in, and ended up laying down lead vocal tracks for 5 songs on the album.

In my opinion, it's some of his best work. My personal favorite is Writing on the Wall, and Hammerdown is really good, too. He also sang on Street Rats, Together, and I Love You So I Told You A Lie.
